Is the worker group in question exposed to work activities that expose employees to hazardous biological agents identified by COSHH assessment or data sheets, e.g. chemicals, bacteria, viruses, fungi (including yeasts and moulds) and internal human parasites (endoparasites)?
Is the worker group in question exposed at work to noise levels exceeding 85 dB or for employees at increased risk for other reason, e.g., sensitivity to noise / previous hearing problems or an underlying health condition?

Are the worker group in question night workers?
Night workers are defined as employees who regularly work more than three hours during the period of 11pm to 6am. For example, employees who normally work at least 3 hours at night;
- on most days worked
- on a proportion of the days
- often enough for it to be said that such hours are worked ‘as a normal course’
- ‘Sleep-in’ shifts depend on whether employees are expected to sleep or work for the majority of their shift.
